Rakta Charitra Promotion at Radio Mirchi, Hyd
Hyderabad, 19th October, 2010: Renowned Director Ram Gopal Varma & Bollywood heartthrob Vivek Oberoi stopped over for a quick visit to Radio Mirchi studios to promote their upcoming movie - Raktha Charitra. The much awaited political flick is scheduled to hit the screens on Friday October 22, 2010. The actor & director shared some exclusive details about the making of Raktha Charitra on RJ Bhargavi's Bumper to Bumper show - the evening drive time programme on Radio Mirchi.
While sharing some of the exhilarating facts about the movie, RGV revealed that the movie is inspired by the political rivalry between Paritala Ravi - Legislator of Telugu Desam Party (Character played by Vivek Oberoi) & Maddelacheruvu Suri - a rival of Paritala Ravi (Character played by Tamil Superstar Suriya). He also mentioned that the idea of making this movie was to present the feudal politics of Andhra Pradesh as a grim example of the caste politics existing in the country.
Answering the questions from listeners about hurdles that came by during the making of the movie, RGV quoted that, "I did not mean to sensationalize or demonize Paritala Ravi - the local hero of Ananthapura but to showcase the realistic picture of the existing circumstances".
Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Oberoi said, "Playing the role of slain leader Paritala Ravindra in the movie Rakta Charitra has been the most challenging, yet satisfying experience of my career as an actor".
The actor director duo also exclaimed, "It is very encouraging to see so much curiosity among the public about the movie. 'Thanks to Radio Mirchi for giving an opportunity to interact with the listeners'.
Rakta Charitra is a forthcoming trilingual biographical film that was made simultaneously made in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. Vivek Oberoi plays the role of Paritala Ravi, while Surya enacts the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri, Ravi's political nemesis. Shatrughan Sinha, Kota Srinivasa Raoand Radhika Apte play other pivotal roles in the movie.
