About lkebana
lkebana is a traditional art form of Japan which involves the creative arrangement of flowers, branches and leaves in various combinations. The arrangements conform to certain rules and are asymmetrically shaped closely resembling nature. They are graceful and rhythmic with beautiful lines. Ikebana came into origin with the introduction of Buddhism to Japan more than 600 years ago The art form evolved from mere offerings of flowers to Buddha in temples at the altar, to many styles and schools. Each school has its own specific theories and principles.

About Ikebana International, Hyderabad Chapter #250
lkebana International Hyderabad Chapter was founded in 1997 by Grandmaster Horyu Meena Anantnarayan and was chartered in 1999 with 20 members. The membership now stands at 66 with Mrs. Rekha Reddy as the President. Members meet every month over interesting workshops, exhibitions, Japanese culture programmes and Indo Japanese fusion events and more. The members work hard at promoting Ikebana, spreading the awareness of nature and environmental issues.

This year is being celebrated as the 60th year Ind° Japan Diplomatic ties and the 15th year of Inception of Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter If 250 by the Chapter.

The Chapter celebrated its Charter Day on 17th November For the first time in Hyderabad lchiyo School Demonstration and Workshop by Mrs.Alka Bhargava Associate Master from Milwaukee ,USA (Past president of Milwaukee Chapter) and Helen Surridge(President of Milwaukee Chapter ) was organized for the Chapter members.
