Pink Wedding 2013
The most anticipated fashion show is back in town. Created, hosted and executed by Shravan Kumar. This is to better the lives of weavers across the nation with 45 minutes of non-stop fashion, featuring 100 exclusive garments, the event promises to be bigger and better. Come, be a part of this annual fashion fiesta in the presence of well-famed national and Hyderabad celebrities.
Brands which sell fabrics have been gaining constant reputation, while the weavers who impart design and craft, have been on a backseat. Despite the fact that weavers are the second largest community after farmers and one the biggest providers of employment, they have been facing several problems since time immemorial. Thousands of weavers are working out of their homes with poor infrastructure and in the absence of electricity. One of the major problems is the negligible amount of credit available to them. Defective policy and competition from multinationals have taken a toll within the communities of traditional weavers.
Shravan Kumar makes a note of these issues and plays his part by paying a tribute to weavers of the nation, through Pink Wedding •• a fashion show of his own, which will showcase more than 100 different and rarest of weaves from India's remotest locations.
A VIEW FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
"Park Hotel is privileged to be a part of Pink Wedding. Having a noble cause behind this caught my interest and willingness to be the hospitality partner. In fact, the honourable Chairperson, Priya Pau/ (who was a proud recipient of Padmashree for her outstanding contribution in the field of hospitality and who is a connoisseur of art, design and food herself), was also excited over the idea of being the hospitality partner for this event. Mr. Vijay Dewan, Managing Director, a great supporter of fashion and art himself, also expressed his happiness over Pink Wedding happening with The Park Hotel." - Mr. Anirban Simlai.
