PepsiCo Beverage Plant Announcement in Sri City

PepsiCo announces plans for beverage plant in Sri City, AP Will be Per, Co's largest and most water efficient beverage roar.

Port of red Rs 33,000 crores investment to drive growth across its o business Hyderabad, December 21, 2013- PepsiCo India today announced plans to build a new greenfield beverage manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Upon completion, it will be PepsiCo's largest beverage plant in India. PepsiCo intends to invest more than Rs 1,200 crores in the project, which is part of the recently announced plans by PepsiCo and its partners to invest Rs. 33,000 crores in India by 2020.

Sri N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Hon'ble Chief minister, Andhra Pradesh, was the Chief Guest at an event organized in Hyderabad to make this announcement. Dr. (Sent.) Geetha Reddy, Minister of Major Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh was the Guest of Honour at the event. Also present were Mr. K Pradeep Chandra, IAS, Principal Secretary and Commissioner for Industrial Promotion, Industries and Commerce Department; Mr. Ravi Sana Reddy- CEO, Sri City and Mr. D Shivakumar, Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo India.

PepsiCo India also announced plans to substantially increase sourcing of mango pulp from Andhra Pradesh in the next 6 years.

Welcoming PepsiCo's investment in the state, Sri N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh said, 'PepsiCo already has a beverage manufacturing plant at Sangoreddy in Andhra Pradesh and I am extremely pleased that they hove chosen our state for setting up their largest plant. The proposed plant will be completed in three phases and once fully operational, the plant will provide direct and indirect employment to over 8000 people."

He added, am happy that the company has also decided to considerably increase its mango sourcing from Andhra Pradesh for its juice based beverages, which will benefit thousands of farmers from the state.'
