Grand Inauguration of Scottsdale Athletic Academy, first of its kind being set up at MNR Scottsdale Campus, Swarnapuri!

Hyderabad, 20th January, 2014: Queen of Indian track and field, P.T.Usha formally inaugurated the Scottsdale Athletic Academy, the one of its kind sports academy in the state, being launched by MNR Scottsdale School, on Monday at Swarnapuri Colony. Vasu V. Manthena - Chairman, MNR Educational Trust, acclaimed Sports personalities, academicians, students and parents witnessed the grand gala event.

On her arrival, she was received by Vasu V. Manthena - Chairman, MNR Educational Trust. The NCC cadets presented an impressive march past and guard of honour to her. Students in colourful traditional attire ushered P.T.Usha into the campus by performing a classical dance with garland. She was shown the replica of the academy and briefed about the latest sports infrastructure and the facilities the academy will have. Padma Shri and Arjuna Awardee P.T.Usha unveiled the "SCOTTSMAN" statue and unveiled the miniature model of the campus to mark of launching the Scottsdale Athletic Academy.

SCOTTSDALE ATHLETIC ACADEMY is exclusively partnering with Rajasthan Royals, Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and Griffith University (Australia) and KOOH Sports. This specialized sports academy is a platform to hone students who have shown potential to play sports at a competitive level. Each sport is powered by the combined expertise of Indian and International Coaches and India's leading sports men aiding in the development of the programme curriculum and methodology. Professional level coaching is given with focus on individual development through a sport appropriate coach to student ratio in a premium infrastructure with a Video Analysis, Body Composition Analysis (B.C.A) and Skill Assessments and progress comparison.

Students enrolled at MNR Scottsdale School will have the double benefit of the strong CBSE academics and a world class sports coaching in Cricket, Football, Tennis and Basketball. Students here choose one of the sport as their elective and pursue the same while giving "equal" time to their studies.

I know of very few Sports Academies in the country with such infrastructure and is definitely a good beginning for laying a foundation to a rich grooming ground, she added.
