Sanskruti Shikar School Year Celebrations 2014
Sanskruti, a well-known name in Hyderabad's social circle has been in the news regularly for the plethora of exciting cultural and fashion showcases, talk shows and programmes on women's empowerment that they bring before Hyderabad's audiences. The organization was established on the 1st of September 1987 with the mission of encouraging fellowship among like minded women, to promote Indian Art and Culture and to extend help to deserving students by way of scholarships in the field of fine arts and other areas of knowledge.
A lesser known fact about Sanskruti is that they are successfully running a social service organization, Sanskruti Shikar, a Special school for differently-abled children.This wonderful milestone was achieved in the year 2000 and the organization is well on its way to fulfilling its promise of making a valuable and qualitative change in the community that they come from. The special school, in the last decade has worked tirelessly to build an institution with the best available teachers and teaching methodology to help the Hearing impaired, speech therapy, physiotherapy and special needs groups; that is achieved through vocational guidance, therapy and through the medium of music, dance, art and cultural programmes. A feather in their cap was Ashish, a bright and talented youngster who did his nation proud by taking part in the Olympics and winning accolades there.
On the 25th of Jan 2014, the most awaited event of the school year was celebrated by Sanskruti at "Sanskruti Shikar" Amrit- Varsha-Kapadia School in which -the little wonder stars of the Special School performed various cultural programmes and showcased their talents. Ashish was felicitated at the programme and stood as a poster boy for other youngsters like him who are being guided and given the capabilities to assimilate them into normal life.
The charismatic Minister for State and Human Resources Development, Govt, of India, Smt. Daggubati Purandeswari was the chief guest for the occasion. Ms.Rekha Reddy, President of the International Hyderabad Chapter of the Ohara School of Ikebana was the Guest of Honor. Present at this moving program were the Founder members, Sanskruti Committee Members, Parents, Teachers and the students of Sanskruti Shikhar.
