Today, in India, an IT-Professional is the most envied person because of high salaries, ability to purchase the best of the items and chances for globetrotting. But in reality their personal life lacks luster because of many problems they are forced to face in the professional life. Most escalating problem is Infertility. Due to heavy burden of work, fear of performance appraisal, an IT-employee cannot spend time with their family. Although they are with their spouse, they are mentally pre-occupied with their work. This trend has long term effect on their sexual life.
Dr.Nirmala Agarwal- Renowned Gynecologist & Fertility Specialist for Past Two Decades- adds that-Today’s Life is more about psychological pressures & stress. Infertility among the younger generation is increasing at an alarming rate and mostly people working in IT Environment are getting affected. Young Professionals are so deeply involved in their work and office, that their personal life is taking a toll on their health. It’s just not about lifestyle diseases and others problems, but also women delaying pregnancies, that affect them, and later face difficulty in conceiving.
The peer pressure affects the personal life of the professional and their health goes unnoticed in a competitive working environment. Sometimes the failure of not being able to achieve the goal or completing a project leads to depression. Staying up late in the night to complete a work goal within a deadline, also leads to increase in the stress level which in turn leads to infertility. Couples who work in IT fields are not able to give each other more time as their timings of work differ.
Dinaz Vervetwala-Guinness World Record Holder & Famous Fitness Trainer- said “Being in the fitness field for so long, I have seen people going through lot of problems related to health and one of the major problem was infertility. The Increase in Infertility cases is a major cause of concern. Due to no exercise, bad food eating habits and stress the problem has grown. I am glad to be a part of this program to help create awareness among people. Youth needs to control and schedule their diet. Also talking to your partner about the tensions and sharing your fears can reduce the stress levels and also bring you comfort and support. Plan a holiday together along with your partner once in a while. It increases the compatibility and closeness between companions”.
Effects of Infertility:
Infertility has lead to divorce, depression, adoption, and extra marital affairs. These affect the couple now-a-days in the new generation. Infertility rate is increasing in the present generation due to many reasons such as eating habits, lifestyle, stress, etc.
The Alarming rise of Infertility among young professionals has seen major problems being faced by them in both their work life and personal life. The loss of interest in office related work, psychological tension, personal problem, families relationships etc...all gets affected with symptoms of depression, anxiety etc. which progresses gradually taking its toll on the young professionals.
These issues are on the rise and many youngsters are suffering in the dark, due to lack of awareness, and other major religious & psychological hindrances.

Causes of Infertility:
Infertility is caused because of the continuous stress levels a person has to face due to the hectic work schedules. This leads to hormonal imbalance in the body. This is not the only reason for Infertility. Infertility is also caused due to external issues like continuous usage of birth control pills, abortion, and production of immature eggs in females. Bacterial infection in genital areas can also be a reason for infertility. However, these can be cured by consulting a Fertility Specialist.
Health related issues can also be a reason for not being able to conceive. Recent researches have shown that age, smoking, alcohol consumption, being obese or over weight, eating disorders and not exercising and mental stress can also lead to infertility.
Also, chronic conditions like AIDS or Cancer or health issues like ovulation disorders due to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Hyperprolactinemia, Poor Egg Quality, Overactive Thyroid Gland, etc., can cause infertility.
