Japan Centre for Arts and Culture inaugurated in Hyderabad

The Japan Centre for Arts and Culture was inaugurated with the unveiling of its logo by KT Rama Rao, Minister for Information Technology, Communications and Panchayat Raj, Government of Telangana. Japan Centre for Arts and Culture (JCAC) is a not-for-profit endeavour dedicated to the objective of enhancing awareness and insight about Japanese culture, language and literature in India. Shimano Yosh , former President of Y's Men's Clubs Hikone, Japan, Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, Government of Telangana, R.V. Chandravadan, Commissioner, Information & Public Relations, Government of Telangana, BV Papa Rao, IAS, Advisor to Government of Telangana, Ramanachary, IAS, Advisor to Government of Telangana were the Guests of Honour on the occasion.

Supported strongly by Hyderabad-Hikone Friendship Association (HIFA) and Y's Men's Clubs of Hikone city, Japan and Hyderabad, which have a historical 50-year friendship, JCAC aspires to play a key role in deepening the understanding between the two countries.

“Our vision is to create a preeminent intellectual and creative institution that nurtures the perfect ambience to study Japanese cultural and literary contributions," said Ramakanth Thumrugoti, President of Japan Centre for Arts and Culture, Hyderabad.

About Japan Centre for Arts & Culture
The conceptualization of JCAC in 2014 will mark an important milestone as the Japanese Prime Minister Abe had early this year, announced a vision statement on new policy for cultural exchange in Asia including India. JCAC will tap into these objectives by creating the right ambience for 'getting to know Japan better.' To stimulate a better appreciation about the highly evolved Japanese arts and culture world, the Centre will facilitate organising of creative events and festivals in the space of visual arts, music, literature, films, fashion and Japanese cuisine.

JCAC will develop a strong partnership with friendship associations in Japan to foster better understanding between both the countries.
