Lakhotia Carnival 2016 at Club Republic
As every year this year also Lakhotia Institute of design is organising the Lakhotia Carnival 2016, the event is conducted by the students of the institute of Fashion ,Interior design, Fashion Photography and Modelling.
The Interior Design department has designed the backdrop and set of the venue and will be performing the skits and the dance on the various Bollywood numbers, the Modelling department with its fresh faces of the models will be seen walking the ramp hoisting the National Flag, Celebrating the Republic day.
A Fashion show on kids wear
With the rising media exposure, high disposable income of the parents, peer pressure and brand consciousness among children are driving the growth of kids apparel market in India from the current level of Rs. 72,000 crore to Rs 95,000 crore by 2016, a study says.
With this backdrop and to keep themselves upbreast in the industry, the students of fashion design of Lakhotia institute of design have designed and created the Kids garments keeping in mind the international trends and Indian sensibilities.
The Fashion show will witness the children from the NGO whose orphans will walk the ramp along with the in-house models on the garments designed and created by the students of the Lakhotia Institute of design. Children represent our future, they need to be loved and cared for .the vision is that these Star kids should be the gennext models who will wear designer garments in future for the great designers. These children were given training before the show for the ramp walk. This Fashion show is a tribute to the orphans and an Initiative by the Lakhotia Institute of design and Panah Foundation.
On this occasion of Republic Day when Constitution was amended and Rights were described.
Let’s remember that every child has the Right to live with respect and dignity and we plead the Childless Parents to adopt the Orphans
The event is hosted by Mr.Azhar and Mrs.Ayesha and entire team of Lakhotia institute of design are present at the event. Around 400 students have put in their efforts to make this event the grand success
A visit to the sunflower farm ignited the design sensibilities of Manjeera, Mamatha, Ashwini, BushraChandrakala and Pallavi.The vibrancy of the yellow flowers and the serene surroundings are expressed through this day wear collection for the girls and boys between the age of eight and ten years. The shape of the flowers inspires the smocking and origami details. The collection comprises of flounce skirts, kimonos, panelled knee length dresses and over shirts in printed cottons, denim and corduroy.
This playful casual wear collection for boys and girls between the age group of six and eight years is inspired by the pirates. The solid blacks, pristine whites, blood reds and dark blues form the colour palette for this collection. Plaids, heavy weight denims and cotton hacobas are used to create hand kerchief hems, poodle sleeves and tiered dresses. The designers for this collection are Satya, Shilpa, Rahul, Akbar, Yasmin and Masrath.
MY GRANDMOTHER’S TRUNK
This very summery collection of light weight printed cottons and denim is inspired by scrapbooking. Extensive machine applique patterns have been developed by Sneha Priya, Pooja, Rajeshwari, Shagufta, Rajyalakshmi and sangeeta. In the colours of sky blue, chrome yellow and pastel pinks this collection features halter tops, high waisted circular skirts, jumpsuits and hot pants for boys and girls of the age group 6-10 years.
The bright lights, the whirly rides bursting with energy at a carnival act inspire Kalpana, Ibrahim, Sheila, Lakshmi and Sara to design this collection. A spring summer collection of colour blocked garments in neon pinks, greens and yellows create a great contrast against the navy blue denim. The line consists of knee length dresses with bubble hems, pleated skirts and panelled tops.
THE CHALK BOARD
A collection of smartly tailored school uniforms for girls and boys between the age group of eight and ten years inspired by going back to school. The fabrics used are cotton plaids and worsteds. Colours used are off whites, blacks and reds. Jackets, pinafores, a- line skirts and skorts with well tailored shirts and blouses complete the collection. The designers for The chalk board are Rituparna, Farah, Haseena and Mahima.
STUFF DREAMS ARE MADE OF...
This very girly party wear collection is inspired by the mesmerizing world of fairytales. The collection is designed by Sunita, Nain, Sumaiya, Sneha and Safiya. Pastel pinks, lavender, sparkly gold and silver form the colour palette. Fabrics used are art silk, printed glass nylons and sheafing. Bubble hems, oversized bows, flowy skirts and dresses are a part of this collection.
