Deputy Chief Minister Dr Rajiah visits Sparsh Hospice, Hyderabad

Sparsh Hospice, an initiative of Rotary Club of Banjara Hills, was started with a mission to "help dying people live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible."Sparsh is the first Palliative care centre in Andhra Pradesh.

All services provided are free, including stay, food, medicines, medical care, nursing etc. Visitors are allowed access freely, and an accompanying attendant's stay is also free.

The Hospice doesn't charge any money and survives because of donations. Sparsh is operated by a Trust, which is registered and has a tax exempt status in India. Since its inception, Sparsh has cared for over 400 patients in a span of three years. This number, though significant, is a far cry from the true number of patients needing palliative care. Given this grim reality, palliative care services are the need of the hour.
The approximate cost of running Sparsh is about Rs. 3.5 lakhs per month.

We are now looking at moving to a permanent facility and expand services to the other needy patients. On the occasion of visit of Shri Dr Rajiah, Honble Deputy Chief Minister, Govt of Telangana we appeal the government to support us with land and other facilities. We commit to provide free services to more such deserving patients.
