Dhoni coming in Feb

Prakash Raj’s directorial venture ‘Dhoni’ is all set to hit theaters in February in Telugu and Tamil. Prakash Raj delivered many quality films like ‘Mozhi’, ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ (Aakasamantha in Telugu), ‘Vellithirai’, ‘Inidhu Inidhu’, ‘Payanam’ (Gaganam in Telugu) and the recently National Award winning Kannada film ‘Puttakkana Highway’under his banner ‘Duet Movies’. In this line he is presently acting, producing and directing the film ‘Dhoni’ on education backdrop. Interestingly Puri Jagannath’s son Aakash is playing a key role in this film. This National Award winner’s first directorial venture in Kannada was ‘Naanu Nanna Kanasu’. After tasting success in Kannada as director, he is now venturing into Telugu and Tamil with ‘Dhoni’.

‘Dhoni’ is all about a young boy named Karthik (Aakash) who is crazy about cricket. He is the son of clerk in government office who always dream big and wants to make his son do MBA. However, Karthik never shows interest in studies but is capable of hitting sixes in the cricket ground. The climax is whether Karthik obeys his father and concentrates on his education or becomes ‘Dhoni’.

‘Dhoni’ will showcase the life of middle class people in a feel good manner and passes the message about the education system in India and how the parents should develop awareness to understand the interests of their children and encourage them to pursue their goals accordingly.

Music is scored by maestro Ilayaraja with lyrics by Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry. All songs were recorded live in this film. The post production works have reached the final stage. The audio is expected to release in this month only and the film in February.
