‘Lingu Haiku’ poem book launched

Filmmaker Lingusamy has been far-famed for his writing elegance blended with high quotients of creativity. He has been often showcasing his writing efficiency with poems and literature. Last evening, the book launch of his Haiku poems titled ‘Lingu Haiku’ was unveiled at Russian Cultural Centre in Chennai. It was such an amazing occasion to see the topmost celebrities of Tamil film industry gracing over it.

Tamil Film Producer Council President and Nadigar Sangam Secretary, Actor Vishal, actress Keerthy Suresh, Professor Gnanasambandham, filmmaker Balaji Sakthivel, Vasantha Balan, Poet Brindha Sarathy, choreographer Raju Sundaram, writer S Ramakrishnan and many others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, director Lingusamy said, “During this moment, I get reminded off a famous poem by Rabindranath Tagore, “You don’t choose good things in life. Good things choose you.” It is so much relevant in my situation and this dais is so much evident of it. Be it 25 years of 25 months of my friendship, all of them have been influential in my every aspect of decisions. Balaji sir happens to be the first one to read and recognize my poem getting me a chance to work as assistant director. Brindha Sarathy has journeyed in my journey of literature for a very long time and now am happy to see that he is here with me. Three lines of poem published in Ananda Vikatan magazine got me a prize money of 30 rupees. This encouraged me to come Chennai and establish myself as a writer. As I have told this before, when we have lost everything in life, writing poem would be the best means of survival.”

Actor Vishal said, “I don’t know why Lingusamy has invited me to this occasion. I have known him only as a filmmaker and have never read any poems before. But his ‘Lingu Haiku’ poem book is going to be in my room from today. So this will be the first ever poem and literature book, I am going to read.”

Actress Keerthy Suresh surprised everyone by reciting a small poem that she wrote by herself. She also mentioned that the poem wrote on ‘Cockroach’ happens to be her favourite one. Witnessing her flair over linguistic skill in Tamil rendition, she won the praises of celebrities over there.
