Life of Pi takes the Chennai singer one more step ahead

After A R Rahman successfully earned two academy awards, it’s now time for this south Indian classical singer as well as the playback singer to get the honor. Jayashree Ramanath aka Bombay Jayashree has been nominated to 85th Academy Awards in the best original song category for crooning the ‘Pi’s Lullaby’ song from Ang Lee’s masterpiece ‘Life of Pi’. Canadian musician Mychael Danna composed the song. A R Rahman has congratulated the singer on twitter mentioning: "Congrats to Bombay Jayashree. First ever Academy Award nomination for a Tamil song."

This Hollywood 3D adventure movie was nominated in 10 other categories - best film, best director, best screenplay writer, best cinematography, best music, best film editing, best production design, best sound editing, best sound mixing and best visual effects.
