Star comedians lend their voice to lion king
After having conquered hearts with ‘The Jungle Book’ in 2016, Disney is all set to present its legendary franchise and crown jewel - ‘The Lion King’ – with ground-breaking technology that re-imagines the greatest story ever told.
Etched forever in pop culture, the animated version was known for its strong and emotional storytelling and memorable characters that won hearts of fans everywhere. And who can forget the perfect comic timing of the beloved friends of Simba - Timon and Pumbaa, who had us in splits every time they come together on screen!
It’s not short of a casting coup that Disney is bringing together two of the best and most talented actors to voice for Timon and Pumbaa. Padma Shri Brahmanandam who currently holds the Guinness World Record for the most screen credits for acting, will voice Pumbaa and the Filmfare Awardee Ali will voice Timon!
“Disney movies are a great outing for the entire family, and my children are huge fans of their classics specially The Lion King. It was a unique and fun experience to voice Pumbaa, and I am looking forward to presenting the film in Telugu to all my fans out there, with my personal touch!” says Brahmanandam.
Adds Ali, “My kids love to watch Disney films, and The Lion King was a great opportunity to be a part of their storytelling legacy and do a special film for my children! Voicing Timon was great fun and I hope my fans appreciate this new avatar of mine when they see The Lion King in Telugu!”
Directed by ‘Iron Man’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ fame director, Jon Favreau, Disney’s The Lion King is one of the most-anticipated films of recent times. The heroic coming-of-age journey will make it to the large canvas with a pioneering and game changing photo-real animation technology, using cutting-edge tools to make the musical drama come alive on the big screen.
