Rains in India are much awaited as they provide a relief from summers. No doubt rains brings refreshing change after the sizzling heat, but along with the relief also comes the warm, rainy and damp climate which causes many diseases.
It is important that you observe some basic precautions to avoid catching these diseases. Rainy season bring many health concerns such as malaria, fungal infections, typhoid, cholera, viral fever.
Malaria and Dengue
As there are many instances of stagnant water, mosquitoes breed fast which leads to alarming increase in people suffering from Malaria and Dengue.
As these diseases are caused by mosquitoes so the easiest precaution is to use repellent and net. Secondly keep the surroundings clean and dry. And finally don’t let the water stagnate. In spite of this a person suffers from the disease and symptoms like recurring fever, high temperature, headache, swollen joints are noticed, immediate medical attention should be given and proper treatment should be given. Prompt diagnosis and treatment can help patients from getting worse.
Persistent humidity, warm weather plus rains are the reasons for viral fever and this is usually transmitted through air. Sneezing, soar throat and high temperature are the symptoms.
It can be prevented by remaining dry, covering mouth while sneezing. If a glass of warm milk and turmeric and gargling does not help, consulting doctor is the best options.

Stomach infections are very unpleasant and can be extremely dangerous for kids. The cause for this is either viral or bacterial infection. Symptoms are persistent motions and vomiting. In case of occurrence, hydrating the patient constantly and immediate medical attention is the best solution.
Adding to this Dr T Srinivasulu says, “To prevent stomach infection, wash hands with soap regularly, do not eat outside food, wash and clean fruits and vegetables before eating, always heat food and eat, drink filtered or boiled water. Do not leave children near animals and if they do make sure that they wash hands with soap or use a sanitizer.”
