Cyclothon india on the move presented by TCEI & EEMA

3rd October, 2020, Hyderabad: #Unlockdown 4&5 have came as a blessing to the long impoverished "Events and Exhibitions and Entertainment Industry in India.

After facing more than 190 days of Lockdown, this experiential industry has stood the testing times without a murmur. In fact this industry was the First Out and Last In

To commemorate the opening up of the industry in India, the apex body of Events - Events and Entertainment Management Association of India (EEMA) along with the regional Association - Telangana Chamber of Events Industry (TCEI) have launched the India wide Cyclothon with the theme - India on the move.

The Cyclothon was held on the 2nd of October, at various venues across the length and breadth of the country, spanning 16 cities and 20 locations. More than 1350 cyclist’s participation was recorded and a cumulative distance of of 1550 kms was achieved.
Hyderabad Cyclothon event clocked second highest registrations after the National Capital Delhi.

At Hyderabad, the event was held at HITEX Exhibition Ground and was flagged off by Ms Rakhi Kankaria President of TCEI
There was an overwhelming response to the event and more than 75 participants came up early in the morning to ride the bicycles. The organisers had set a route map of 10 KM ride for the participants and had a cutoff registration for 50 members only.

Most of the young enthusiasts, mostly children were seen driving up to the venue along with theirs parents and wards in anticipation of spot registrations, even after the flag off.

A second round of cyclothon had to be organised to fulfill the aspirations of many youngsters who all returned home happily after having a health breakfast and thanking the organisers of the event.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr Venkateshwar Akulapally, EC Member of EEMA in South India had a word of thanks for the Government of India for heeding to the demands of the Industry and opening up the sector with all due precautions.

Mr Neeraj KS Thakur, General Secretary of TCEI, in his vote of thanks, cautioned the event mangers and entrepreneurs to observe all SOPs set by the Government in conduct of the events and entertainment in the coming days and advised the members not to expose themselves and public to unnecessary threats. "It is only thru knowledge and systemic approach that we can win over this pandemic" he said.
