Usually, the Hindutva brigade vocal on social media supports SS Rajamouli. It's because his 'Baahubali' movies and 'RRR' are deemed naturally Hindu. Many North Indians believe that Alluri in 'RRR' was 'portrayed' as Lord Rama in the film's last leg because the film's writer Vijayendra Prasad is a Hindutva sympathizer.
But the same brigade may turn out to be RRR's nightmare. 'RRR' and 'The Kashmir Files' are expected to be in the race for India's official Oscar entry. Only one film can be sent from India in a year. A social media campaign will be rolled out for sure to influence the BJP government, which might in turn use its clout to influence the jury. (It does happen with every government). Social media is dominated by Hindutva supporters, as the #BoycottBollywood campaign has shown repeatedly.
The Hindutva guys prefer 'The Kashmir Files', for the film shows how Islamists carried out the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus. It's true history, unlike 'RRR' which is pure fiction. However, it is 'RRR' that has a great chance of winning the Oscar in the Best International Picture category if nominated.
'The Kashmir Files', even if nominated, will not win the Oscar. It's mainly because the Western establishment doesn't sympathize with Hindu causes at any cost.
