SS Rajamouli's views have been sought-after by Hollywoodians this year. In an opinion piece, the star filmmaker has talked about what he feels has been missing in Hollywood movies for many years now.
Saying that Hollywood action has become slicker over the years, Rajamouli opined that what’s lacking is the emotional involvement for the audience when the action is happening. He gives a couple of examples to draw a contrast.
As per the 'Baahubali' maker, 'Braveheart', 'Gladiator' and 'Black Panther' had big action set-pieces plus lots and lots of drama driving up until those points. "And even through that action, we see drama happening. That feels missing in present-day Hollywood films," Rajamouli writes.
He adds that 'Top Gun: Maverick' made him feel emotionally for Tom Cruise's character.
