'Mahaan', starring Vikram and his son Dhruv Vikram, is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio. Featuring Bobby Simha and Simran in important roles, the film will release on February 10 on Amazon Prime in all major South Indian languages.

The trailer for the action-packed thriller is out. If the teaser, released the other day, was exclusively about Gandhi Mahaan (Vikram), the trailer shows snatches involving him and his estranged son (Dhruv Vikram) as well. As per the story, Gandhi starts out as an idealist. He is a teacher who lives a principled life. When he strays from his month just once, misunderstandings unfold and his wife walks out of the marriage. Gandhi joins hands with an old friend and becomes a syndicate lord in the dark world.

There comes a day when Gandhi wants his son back in his life. But it's not easy, as the path is strewn with thorns. Director Karthik Subbaraj is confident that Vikram and Dhruv, who are a father-son duo in real life, will light up the screens.

Vikram has called the film a perfect blend of action and drama. "Transitioning from one emotion to another was a great acting experience," the 'Aparichitudu' star said.

Dhruv is glad to have got to share screen space with his father for the first time. He adds that working with the 'Petta' director was a great learning experience. Nachi is the name of Simran's character and she is going to be seen as a simple, humble woman.

The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
