Telugu heroes' ego Vs Aamir Khan's honesty

Lately, a lesser-known filmmaker in Bollywood, who happens to be Aamir Khan's cousin, was cited stating that SS Rajamouli expressed the opinion that Aamir's portrayal in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was over the top. The 'Dangal' actor himself personally shared this feedback with his cousin. Aamir acknowledged the perspective put forth by the director of 'RRR'.

A superstar like Aamir talking about Rajamouli's brutally honest feedback (it is another matter that it was done in private) goes to show how non-egoistic he is. Usually, not many would take to such criticism with an open mind. In Bollywood, this culture of embracing brutal feedback has existed for long. In fact, Karan Johar has this habit of incentivizing his critics by giving them positions in his production house.

This culture is absent in the Telugu cinema industry, where actors never tolerate harsh criticism. If their performance in a film is trolled by Netizens, top stars make their fans project it as agenda-driven mockery and hate-filled propaganda against their beloved star hero. "Our star has achieved so much in life. This hate will not affect his image even a bit. Those who bark at him are losers, dogs and whatnot." This is the tone our stars encourage. This closed-minded attitude helps none.
