The demise of K Viswanath has been seen as an irreparable loss for the Indian film industry. The who's who of the Indian film industry, not to forget leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have said that Viswanath's body of work had a mark of genius.

In their tributes, celebrities have specifically talked about some of the most celebrated classics directed by K Viswanath. Among them are 'Sankarabharanam', 'Sagara Sangamam', 'Swarna Kamalam', 'Sirivennela', and 'Siri Siri Muvva'.

If Mahesh Babu felt that Viswanath's films brought together culture and cinema so beautifully, Megastar Chiranjeevi wrote that Viswanath made numerous iconic, timeless films. Power Star Pawan Kalyan reminded the younger generation of less-celebrated titles such as 'Undamma Bottu Pedatha', 'O Sitha Katha'.

Kamal Haasan, who considers Viswanath as one of his gurus, wrote a hand-written tribute, saying that the filmmaker understood the immortality of art.

SS Rajamouli and Jr NTR's tributes had a commonality. They both hinted that Viswanath was a unique filmmaker globally, not just nationally. Allu Arjun said that Viswanath was every actor's teacher and Indian cinema's pride. Akkineni Nagarjuna thanked the director for giving memorable movies and characters.

Narendra Modi wrote, "He was a stalwart of the cinema world, distinguishing himself as a creative and multifaceted director. His films covered various genres and enthralled audiences for decades. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that Viswanath represented the Telugu culture and Indian art. Telangana CMO opined that Viswanath had the ability to turn even an ordinary story into visual poetry.
