Looks like Shah Rukh Khan had a close shave with a disaster about eight years ago. He was supposed to team up with AR Murugadoss, who at that time was making masterpieces like SPYder with gullible superstars like Mahesh Babu.
In his latest interview, ARM revealed that he had pitched a character arc to SRK in 2017 or so. Khan liked the idea. Fortunately for him, he didn't have another meeting with ARM, and the project didn't take off.
The same character was later developed into a story, and Madharaasi is what it evolved into. Madharaasi, headlined by Sivakarthikeyan, will head to theatres on September 5.
Had Shah Rukh Khan been directed by Murugadoss, the film would have certainly failed (Sikandar was a flop recently and this has been ARM's form for the past more than one decade). And the Bollywood superstar would have lost interest in working with southern Indian directors. Atlee's Jawan, the biggest hit in SRK's career, would never have happened.
