Fans and industry observers are weighing in on which actress holds the title for the longest-standing career as a leading heroine.
"Trisha Krishnan might be the longest-standing actress playing a heroine in South India? Her debut was when she was 18, and now she is 42 years old; in that, roughly two decades, she has held her playing heroine against top actors in Tamil. Is there any other actress around now who shares this credential?" a netizen asked. A movie buff pointed at Nayanthara, who too started at the age of 18 and she is 41 year old now. "Unlike Trisha, who disappeared after 2012, Nayanthara never took a long break," he argues.
