The Script Craft: All you want to know about Prabhas' bold vision and initiative

The Script Craft is the name of a one-of-its-kind initiative launched by the pan-India superstar Prabhas. What is unique about it is that it makes script-writing democratic. If you are an aspiring cinema writer/director, the portal provides the perfect platform to reach out to several production houses at once.

Calling it a "groundbreaking initiative", the team promised to unleash a "new era in global storytelling, transforming dreams into cinematic careers by giving creators worldwide a direct launchpad to fame, producers, and audiences". The Kalki 2898 AD actor is personally "championing" the platform. The Spirit actor wants every deserving story to be turned into a celluloid dream.

Prabhas's bold vision has been started by Thaalla Vaishnav and Pramod Uppalapati.

Registrations are now open at TheScriptCraft.com, with exact submission dates and categories to be announced soon. But before you proceed further, here is what you should know.

A new format unveiled:

Breaking away from traditional contest formats, this festival empowers storytellers worldwide by inviting short films of at least two minutes to compete over a 90-day period. While audience engagement—through votes, likes, and ratings—determines the top three winners, every participant benefits from exposure to major production houses currently scouting The Script Craft for new talent.

Prominent filmmakers support it:

Animal maker Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared that making a short film is a crucial step in the filmmaking process, noting the vast difference between writing a script and seeing it on screen.

Nag Ashwin reflected on how he discovered director KV Anudeep through YouTube, leading to the success of Jathi Ratnalu. He argued that a filmmaker's actual work and self-understanding are more vital than formal film school, stating, “I hope all of you utilise this opportunity to submit your films, make your films and make the best out of it.”

Hanu Raghavapudi, who is currently directing Fauzi, encouraged the many youngsters who dream of entering the industry and directing. He motivated them to “present your vision, conquer your dream,” and wished all the participants good luck.

Quick TV enters into a partnership:

Quick TV's internal jury will select 15 standout filmmakers, providing each with a fully funded 90-minute script, complete production support, and a global premiere on the Quick TV platform. "We are fast-tracking 15 filmmakers from shorts to international features, launching their professional directing careers," the team said.
