Akhanda 2 and Pawan Kalyan's OG are scheduled to hit the cinemas on the same day: September 25. Amid speculations that Akhanda 2 will be moved to December, Balakrishna has made an interesting comment. "We announced the release date on the muhurtham day itself. We did that at a time when release dates are routinely reshuffled in the industry," the Hindupur MLA said.
It is evident that Balakrishna would be the last one to want Akhanda 2 to be postponed to avoid an unhealthy clash with OG. If Akhanda 2 and OG clash for Dasara, it will be a bigger-than-Sankranthi event in the Telugu film industry. The best option for both would be spacing their release dates by one or two days.
Akhanda 2 is directed by Boyapati Sreenu. Its teaser had over-the-top content, though. While unverified news reports have estimated its budget to be upwards of Rs 200 Cr, the actual figure must be much less. Starring Samyuktha and Aadhi Pinisetty in major roles, Akhanda 2's music is by Thaman.
