After the teaser of Mirai was released yesterday, many have congratulated director Karthik Gattamneni, a set of technicians and People Media Factory for pulling off excellent visuals on a supposedly reasonable budget. The production costs (which don't include remunerations paid to actors and technicians) are estimated to be just Rs 40 Cr. If true, the quality of visuals seen in the teaser are a total triumph.
That said, it would be too early to congratulate Mirai. The film's release is months away and we might be told that, eventually, the budget overshot by tens of crores. These things happen all the time in Telugu cinema.
A teaser is released with a specific purpose in mind: to generate buzz. And the best VFX shots are strategically included in such a video.
Mirai, starring Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj in the lead, will head to theatres on September 5.
