Released in theatres for Dasara, the movie has been described as a divine blockbuster.
The worldwide gross of Rs 235 Cr makes it one of the most-watched movies of the year. The Rishab Shetty-directed period-based mythological narrative is also picking pace in Hindi. As per trade analysts reporting on Bollywood, Kantara's four-day nett at the Indian box office (Hindi version) is expected to be Rs 70 Cr.
Meanwhile, Kantara Chapter 1, as per Hombale Films, has clocked in a whopping 5 million tickets on BookMyShow.
With music and cinematography by Ajaneesh Loknath and Aravind Kashyap, Kantara Chapter 1 is headlined by Rishab Shetty. Rukmini Vasanth and Jayaram have more screen-time than others, including Gulshan Devaiah.
