Akira was considered for OG, but logic prevented the casting

Pawan Kalyan's Akira Nandan was rumoured to be playing the younger version of his dad in They Call Him OG. The idea was jettisoned for a logical reason.

Akira is way taller than his dad. The young Gambheera being taller than the older Gambheera would have been a bad idea. Which is why Sujeeth abandoned the idea.

Akira's debut was anticipated by Pawan Kalyan's fans until as late as a day before the movie's theatrical release on September 25. Many were hoping for a total surprise on the big screen.

OG, co-starring Emraan Hashmi, Sriya Reddy, Sudev Nair, Harish Uttaman, Prakash Raj and others, grossed Rs 252 Cr on its first weekend (four days). The gangster action drama, with music by Thaman, is produced by the DVV Danayya-Kalyan Dasari duo. A private screening of OG was held for Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and other Mega heroes on Monday. Akira Nandan attended it with his dad.
