It's known that Hollywood director Satya Reddy is making a film on Gautama Buddha. Titled 'King Buddha', the film's first song is out. The title track, coming with the theme of "We Want World Peace” was unveiled in the presence of dignitaries in Hyderabad.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Buddhism Religious Affairs, Dr. Sunil Senevi, was present on the occasion. He described the movie as a noble initiative by Satya Reddy, adding that the message of the Buddha is relevant in today's war-stricken world. He particularly referred to the ongoing Iran-Israel war, as well as the long-standing Russia-Ukraine standoff. What makes 'King Buddha' a uniquely crossover project is the fact that it originated in the US and has since been shot in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia. "Our country will fully support the production of this meaningful film. This is a one-of-its-kind movie that has been shot in Buddhist-majority lands," the Minister from Sri Lanka added. His speech, underlining the theme of "global harmony", was particularly emotional because it mentioned the atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a landmark event that has stayed in the psyche of the world population over the decades.

Satya Reddy is taking pride over the fact that 'King Buddha' has been imbued with Hollywoodian standards. "It will find a global audience upon its release. We plan to bring it out in 100 languages next year (2027)," he said, suggesting that superlative technical standards can be expected. Buddha's life was associated with places like Nepal, the Himalayas, Lumbini, and Kathmandu. All of these will be authentically represented in the film.

The official teaser and trailer for King Buddha will be launched at events in Thailand and Malaysia, while major pre-release events are being planned for Delhi and Amaravati. The promotions have been massive. In February, a march known as the World Peace Padayatra covered a 17-kilometer stretch from Hyderabad to Turkayamjal, where the film unit walked alongside the monks.
