A fierce online battle has broken out between Bollywood and South Indian cinema fans following the release of the teaser for Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana.
Ramayana's 'copied' shots:
South cinema enthusiasts took to X, posting a side-by-side video that claims nearly every major shot in the teaser mirrors Hollywood blockbusters. Comparisons include fiery aerial battles from Game of Thrones, a grand circular hall scene from The Dark Knight Rises, a boat amid a crowd from The Batman, dramatic silhouetted figures from Dune: Part Two, and ruined-temple hero shots from The Avengers. Critics argued the frames looked inferior, questioning whether the big-budget epic (reportedly costing Rs 4,000 crore) could deliver a fresh retelling of the sacred story of Lord Rama.
Baahubali's 'copied' shots:
Bollywood supporters countered instantly with their own viral compilation. It exposed similar “copycat” moments in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise. A video juxtaposed Baahubali scenes against Hollywood hits such as Avatar (forest chases), Hercules (elephant battles), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (claw fights), Hellboy, Hulk, Thor: The Dark World, 300, Captain America, and The Avengers.
