Recently, a Telugu stand-up comedian made jokes/comments about the personal/family lives of several Telugu heroes, including Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Pawan Kalyan. A clip from this went viral recently, drawing backlash for crossing into personal territory under the guise of comedy.
Sarath Chandra, a close aide of Allu Arjun, has urged restraint on the part of comics. "People are crossing boundaries in the name of stand up comedy. Commenting on someone’s personal life isn’t comedy. This needs to be taken seriously. It’s equally disappointing to see people applauding such content," he wrote.
Bunny's team has previously acted quickly against similar content. Recently, they got a controversial video about the Raaka actor deleted when a PR official from Mumbai claimed that he has lots of unreasonable "rules" for guests/professionals who meet him.
