'Bharata Varsha' Title Glimpse: Gopichand's movie goes back to 642 AD

"An age of glory… A land of legends… A story buried in time… Now… it rises (sic)," the makers of Gopichand's 33rd movie wrote, announcing the title of the movie. It's called Bharata Varsha, and 'Saga of Shula' is its tagline.

On the face of it, this is the most expensive film in Gopichand's career. The epic war drama is about a "forgotten chapter" in our history. There are many chapters that have been forgotten in the long march of national history. Director Sankalp, one hopes, has dealt with personalities and events that are rare. Also, war dramas typically explore themes like valour and bravery in run-of-the-mill ways. Bharata Varsha will have to be innovative on this front.

The stunts (by Venkat, Prudhvi, Real Sathish, Rajesh Lanka, Venkatarao) are required to be imaginative. Bharata Varma co-stars Ritu Varma, Vinod Kumar, Gavi Chahal, and Tanikela Bharani in prominent roles. Rakesh Varre, Bharath Reddy, Chatrapathi Sekhar, Ravi Varma, Kishor, Karthikeya, Madhumani, and Baby Tejal are part of the cast.

Produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi, Bharata Varsha's music is done by Anudeep Dev. The cinematography is handled by Soundar Rajan S. Edited by Chota K Prasad, its production design is crafted by Chinna. Tilak Nimmala had co-written the screenplay and dialogue.
