Thassadiya is a celebration song and a festival anthem. Set against a backdrop of a traditional scenario, the dance number from Maa Inti Bangaram ticks all the right boxes. Santhosh Narayanan's tune is fluid, the feel is rooted without the overuse of dhol or mridangam, and the lyrics focus on themes that you would expect from a literal family-friendly song. Samantha Ruth Prabhu owns the atmosphere like a queen. Chinmayi Sripada and Punya Selva croon the song.
That said, Thassadiya only partially represents the spirit of the movie, which has a heavy-duty, heroine-centric action genre tinge.
Co-starring Diganth, Gulshan Devaiah, Sree Mukhi, Gautami, Anand, Lakshmi, Srinivas Gavireddy and Manjusha, the film is being jointly produced by the lead actress, her husband Raj Nidumoru (also the film's creator), and Himank Duvvuru. Nandini Reddy of Ala Modalaindi fame is the director.
Tralala Moving Pictures is steering the project. Sita Menon and Vasant Maringanti have penned the story and screenplay. Samantha's action drama Maa Inti Bangaram has action direction by Lee Whittaker of Baahubali 2 and Captain Marvel fame. Ullas Hydur of 777 Charlie is the production designer. Dharmendra Kakarala is the editor. Om Prakash is the cinematographer.
Maa Inti Bangaram will head to theatres on May 15.
