Chethabadi: M3 Media and Maha Movies unites with JD Chakravarthy

The other day, M3 Media and Maha Movies announced a project with a pre-look. The news is that the film has been titled Chethabadi, which is a Telugu term used to describe black magic or witchcraft. It is a combination of traditional folklore, spiritual beliefs, and superstitions prevalent in AP and TS.

JD Chakravarthy, who was one of the most sought-after heroes of Telugu cinema in the 1990s, will headline this "intriguing" horror-mystery outing. As per the team, the film's screenplay will be edge-of-the-seat. Since JD's creative choices have always been interesting, one can expect Chethabadi to live up to its spooky title. "JD's look itself will be very different. He is both the hero and the antagonist of the story," the makers added.

Music giant Saregama has secured the five-language audio rights for the film before production has even begun. While most pan-Indian projects simply translate the same track across various regions, this film introduces a creative twist: while the visuals remain the same across versions, the Telugu version will feature an entirely different song than the other languages. This attempt goes to show that the team is very sincere. Written and directed by Suryas, the film's music is composed by Achu Rajamani. Chandrabose is penning lyrics for all songs.

To be filmed by DoP Mirlan Nazeer, Chethabadi will be edited by Vamsi. Ashish Teja Pulala is the art director. The production team, led by Mahendra Nath Kondla, wants to deliver a high-quality technical experience for the audience. Filming for this thriller is scheduled to commence in May.
