Rajendra Prasad's Pithapuram Lo: 'This family drama will hit the bullseye'

Dr. Rajendra Prasad's Pithapuram Lo... Ala Modalaindi is heading to theatres on May 1. A family drama, it attempts to portray the bond between a father and daughter in a moving fashion.

Producer Akula Suresh Patel has spoken of the movie's key highlight. "We had the opportunity to pitch the story of Pithapuram Lo to Mahesh Chandra, and both he and the writer, Sriram Edoti, dedicated their fullest effort to the project. They evolved the story into an exceptional script. As the head of the village, Rajendra Prasad garu's performance is outstanding. Those who have watched the movie have turned emotional. Some of them had tears as they walked out of the hall. With a positive 'word of mouth', our movie will surely hit the bullseye."

Almost three-fourths of the movie was filmed in Pithapuram because director Mahesh Chandra, a die-hard supporter of Pawan Kalyan, had vowed to make a film there if his political icon were to win in 2024. All this might make you presume this is a political film, but it's far from being that. "Pithapuram Lo is a quintessential family drama with no political elements. Despite a huge cast, the film was successfully wrapped up in 45 working days," Mahesh Chandra Productions' Dundigalla Balakrishna shared.

Producer FM Murali, many years ago, worked as a journalist in Pithapuram. The house in which the film's story is set resembles his own residence, staying true to the atmosphere and lived realities of the villagers. The director was intent on shooting in such a location. "Mahesh Chandra's treatment of the family drama is what pulled me towards the project. It's a privilege that I got to associate with a filmmaker who brought out Preyasi Raave," he added.

Prudhviraj, Kedar Shankar, Mani Chandana, Jayavahini, Annapurnamma, Dasari Padma, Sunny Akhil, Virat, Sai Praneeth, Srilu, Pratyusha, Rehana, Jr. Pawan Kalyan, JDV Prasad, 'KA Paul' Ramu, and Jabardasth Seshu are part of the cast. Akula Suresh Patel is the story-writer.
