Director Chandoo Mondeti is set to collaborate with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for a new film. The project is described as a historical thriller. It will be set against the backdrop of Ujjain.
Besides Akshay, our own Rana Daggubati will be playing a leading role.
Reports suggest that another top hero may also join the cast soon. So, it's going to be a true crossover project. It will bring together actors and technicians from multiple industries.
Karan Johar and Dharma Productions will produce the movie. The project is being planned on a massive scale.
Chandoo Mondeti has not taken up Karthikeya 3 or the Suriya-Geetha Arts movie in the three years since the release of Karthikeya 2. Last year, an animation movie titled Vayuputra was announced. When Vayuputra was made official in September 2025, Sithara Entertainments set out for a Dasara 2026 release. However, that's not happening.
