Krish Jagarlamudi's comeback attempt: Small film, big expectations

Director Krish Jagarlamudi's last box-office hit was Nandamuri Balakrishna's Gautamputra Satakarni. The Sankranthi release came out in 2017. Nine years later, he is reportedly attempting to make a comeback through a small-scale movie with fresh faces.

As per a web media report, the yet-untitled movie is a "travel-based film featuring seven newcomers, five of whom are male and two are female actors". The project will likely lock its release date soon.

Krish's supporters want to see him make meaningful, story-centric movies like Vedam, Gamyam, and Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. They believe he shouldn't have made NTR: Kathanayakudu and NTR: Mahanayakudu. Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (Hindi) would have catapulted him to the next level in an ideal scenario. Konda Polam was rushed and boring. Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty, was a disaster last year. The failure of the NTR biopic movies is at least forgivable, for he had no choice but to be politically correct and conventional. Konda Polam and Ghaati were narratively and structurally outdated. Hope Krish is making a true comeback this time.
