Donga Na Koduku is the title of a crime-comedy movie starring Mouli Tanuj Prasanth of Little Hearts fame. Since the title is anything but decent (the language is considered crass), Mythri Movie Makers has been receiving flak for the decision.
In the face of the criticism over the title, Mouli decided to walk straight up to the common man to know if they find the title offensive. Many told him they are "family audience" but didn't find anything outrageous. The video clip shared by Mouli on social media doesn't seem rehearsed. And that's the best part of his marketing effort.
Mouli comes from a non-film background. The former content creator was catapulted to fame by last year's sleeper hit, Little Hearts. Donga Na Koduku's success will put him in a medium-range fee range league. Even an actor like Satyadev Kancharana, despite possessing loads of talent, has been trying hard to break into that mold.
As someone who tested waters as a content creator for years, Mouli knows the audience's pulse. This awareness fuels his marketing strategy. His funny skits with his fellow Little Hearts comedian, Jai Krishna, went viral last year. With Donga Na Koduku, he is back to repeating the feat.
