Andhra Pradesh took a major step toward boosting its film industry today. Top officials met to discuss measures for simplifying shooting permissions across the state. The high-level meeting brought together Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, APSFTVTDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan, APFDC Managing Director Viswanathan, and senior officials from multiple government departments.
Single-Window System on the Cards
The central focus of the meeting was building a filmmaker-friendly ecosystem. Officials held detailed discussions on introducing a fast-track approval system paired with a single-window clearance mechanism. The proposed framework aims to ensure timely permissions and better coordination among departments involved in granting shooting clearances.
This move is expected to draw applause from the Telugu film industry, which has been wanting a more proactive approach.
Chairman Reaffirms Government's Commitment
Speaking after the meeting, Bharat Bhushan said the state government is committed to positioning Andhra Pradesh as a preferred filming destination. He noted that extensive talks with department officials had helped formulate a streamlined process, allowing filmmakers to secure permissions quickly and without procedural delays. He expressed confidence in the positive response from all participating departments, adding that the single-window system would improve the ease of doing business for the industry. Guidelines for the new mechanism, he said, would be announced soon.

The meeting saw participation from several senior figures, including Principal Secretary Kumar Vishwajeet, PCCF Chalapathi Rao, CCF N.N. Rao, and officials such as Shashi Bhushan Kumar, Kanthilal Dande, Suresh Kumar, Sampath Kumar, Yuvaraj, Kannababu, Amrapali, Praveen Aditya, Shubham Bansal, Bharani, Padmavathi, and Venkataramana, all of whom extended support to the initiative.
