Ravi Teja's latest release, Irumudi, has emerged as a huge box office hit, grossing over Rs 135 Cr worldwide in its very first week. The emotional revenge action drama proved that strong content mixed with his performance can pull crowds to theaters in large numbers.
The Mass Maharaja is teaming up with Hasith Goli (Raja Raja Chora, Swag) and Vivek Athreya (Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Brochevarevarura) for his upcoming ventures. Both Hasith and Vivek are fairly consistent new-age filmmakers. Their storytelling styles are appreciated by critics. They hold immense promise for the industry, much like Venky Atluri (Vishwanath And Sons, SIR, Lucky Baskhar) has shown in recent years.
The Hasith Goli movie will come out first. Rumouredly titled Daagudu Moothalu Dandakor Entertainment Hardcore, this one is a Sankranthi 2027 release. The Vivek Athreya movie will be released in the second half of that year.
This is part of a welcome trend in Ravi Teja's recent choices. He has been actively collaborating with talent like Karthik Ghattamaneni, who previously directed him in Eagle. However, a word of caution is necessary. He shouldn't take the massive success of Irumudi for granted. Irumudi worked because of how it mixed a familiar storyline and emotions with the devotion and daughter sentiment elements.
