Telugu Zee5 has announced a fresh slate of content that brings together some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema. The lineup spans originals, films, dubbed titles, AI-powered shows, kids' programming and live sports. It marks one of the platform's most ambitious expansions yet.
Star-Studded Collaborations Drive the Slate
The new offering is backed by partnerships with leading production houses. These include C Aswini Dutt's Vyjayanthi Movies, B Sukumar's Sukumar Writings, BVSN Prasad's Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, Prime Show Entertainment, Shine Screens, Vriddhi Cinemas, Akkineni family's Manam Enterprises, Birla Studios, Temple Town Pictures, Udaya Bhanu Productions and Sri Chakra Movies.
On the originals front, Shrimathi stars Nivetha Thomas. Panchanama features Bharath Niwas and Sivaji Raja. Audience favourite Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra 2 also returns, hosted once again by Jagapathi Babu.
Lloyd C. Xavier, Business Head for Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam at Zee5, explained the thinking behind the slate. "Telugu audiences have always been open to stories that are unconventional while still staying true to the emotions and authenticity they connect with," he said. This philosophy, he noted, has been shaped by years of listening to creators and viewers alike.
The cinema slate is equally strong. It includes Lenin, directed by Murali Kishore Abburu and starring Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse. NBK111 brings together director Gopichand Malineni with stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and Kajal Aggarwal. January 12 Vidudhala, directed by Anil Ravipudi, stars Venkatesh and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. Vrushakarma, from director Karthik Varma Dandu, features Naga Chaitanya and Meenakshi Chaudhary. Kanaka Durga rounds out the list, directed by Pradeep Maddali and starring Allari Naresh and Kajal Choudhary.
Xavier tied these titles back to the platform's broader vision. "From the return of Jayammu Nishchayammu Ra 2 to originals like Shrimathi and Panchanama, this slate brings together familiar favourites and new stories for Telugu audiences," he said. Each title, he added, carries its own distinct voice and perspective.
Expanding Beyond Traditional Formats
Zee5's dubbed film catalogue adds further variety. It includes Vijay's Jana Nayagan, Nayanthara's Hi, Demonte Colony 2, A Queen and Veerappan 2. These titles broaden the platform's reach across languages and genres.
The platform is also stepping into new creative territory with AI-powered storytelling. Titles such as Garuda, Vikram Vetal, Shiv Sati, Chandrakanta, Tirupati Balaji, Narmada and Ram Anjanay Yudh will bring mythological and folk narratives to life.
Younger viewers have not been left out. Kids' titles Barbarik and Kundaka Mandakka join the roster. They offer age-appropriate entertainment rooted in Indian storytelling traditions.
Sports fans, too, have reason to tune in. Zee5's live sports portfolio now features FIFA, Bundesliga, Coppa Italia and ILT20, giving subscribers access to global football and cricket action.
Summing up the vision behind this expansive slate, Xavier said the goal was to reflect "our commitment to stories that are bold, fresh and deeply engaging, while remaining rooted in the emotions that Telugu audiences connect with most."
