Yash's Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has landed its Teaser. Clocking in at 1.5 minutes, it unleashes Yash in his most intense and violent avatar yet as Raya, a gritty antihero who commands "manners" from his rivals.
A dark, circus-infused world of revenge and chaos, the film's high-octane action sequences (courtesy of JJ Perry, Anbariv, Kecha Khamphakdee, and Amrit Singh) evoke Hollywood-level grandeur. The teaser's raw fury, provocative imagery, and promise of scale have fans buzzing.
The level of violence is something we were prepared for. However, not everyone thought it would aim for something beyond Marco (Malayalam) and content that feels like a "KGF on steroids" thing. Director Geetu Mohandas should have included a few shots involving familiar faces (like the star female cast).
We won't know if Toxic has the potential to redefine the action-drama genre for Indian cinema until the trailer drops. That said, the color grading and production values are definitely awesome.
KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations have bankrolled the movie. They have tied up with AA Films for the Hindi release and with Sri Venkateswara Creations for the Telugu release. The Overseas release is by Phars Film. The visual and technical world of the international release is shaped by production designer TP Abid and art director Mohan B Kere, while the film’s editing is handled by editor Ujwal Kulkarni. The sound design is by Kunal Sharma.
Toxic will head to theatres on March 19 on a grand scale. Co-starring Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi, the film has music by Ravi Basrur.
