"Some journeys are special because of the people behind them. Super proud to launch the trailer of Saraswathi, directed by dear friend Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. I have seen the hard work she’s poured into this, and it truly deserves all your love," wrote Natural Star Nani, sharing the trailer for Saraswathi, the Krack and Veera Simha Reddy actress' directorial venture. A courtroom drama and a mystery thriller, the film's plot revolves around Saraswathi, a pre-teen girl who has gone missing. Varalaxmi and Priyamani play the female protagonists. Prakash Raj plays a lawyer, while Rao Ramesh is a judge.
Sai Madhav Burra, the dialogue writer of movies like RRR, Kalki 2898 AD, Khaidi No. 150, Gautamiputra Satakarni, and Veera Simha Reddy, has penned the story.
Speaking at the trailer event, Bunny Vasu said that the screenplay is tight and racy. "Every other minute, a noted artist makes an entry in the film. The huge casting itself is an achievement. There is a 7:45-minute uninterrupted shot in the movie; I couldn't notice it," he said.
Also featuring Kishore, Murali Sharma, Radhika Sarathkumar, Nasser, Thulasi, Sapthagiri, Srikanth Iyengar, Mime Gopi, Hareesh Peradi, Raghu Babu, Getup Srinu and others, Saraswathi is produced by Pooja Sarathkumar and the director herself on Dosa Diaries LLP. Thaman S is the music director. AM Edwin Sakay is the cinematographer.
Saraswathi will hit the cinemas on March 6.
