Aaya Sher from The Paradise dropped on Tuesday evening. The Anirudh Ravichander composition is now more than just a hit. On social media, a section of movie buffs and cultural observers from Telangana have been lauding the song, describing it as quintessentially cultural.
On Wednesday afternoon, BRS leader KT Rama Rao shared a reel describing KCR as the lion. While Natural Star Nani is the "sher" in The Paradise, in KTR's reel, it is the former Chief Minister.
Nayini Anurag Reddy, a social media user, praised the song for using the Telangana dialect. "For decades, mainstream Telugu cinema had reserved our dialect for exactly two roles: Comedian (to show backwardness) and villain (to show raw cruelty). They conditioned generations to believe that heroes cannot speak Telangana. They made us feel small in our own theaters. We laughed along, even when the joke was on us. But post-2014, the time has changed. Now, the biggest stars are roaring in our slang. The biggest music directors are beating our folklore and the best part? They have no choice but to dance to it," he wrote.
The Paradise is directed by Srikanth Odela, a Telangana director like Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Tharun Bhascker. The film will head to theatres on August 21.
