Ko Ante Koti, released in 2012, was headlined by Sharwanand. He also produced it. Its box-office failure devastated him so much that many friends and relatives fell out with him because he owed them money.
"I made the film on borrowed money. After it flopped, I had to start repaying debts. It took me six years to clear out all the loans. During that phase, I didn't buy even a new piece of shirt. When Run Raja Run was released and UV Creations hosted a party at Prabhas anna's home, I was unable to enjoy. Prabhas anna kept encouraging me to cheer up. The whole thing was not sinking in," Sharwanand revealed in a chit-chat with Tharun Bhascker a few years ago.
Padi Padi Leche Manasu's failure affected him badly in 2017. "After it flopped, I didn't step out of my home for three months. We had worked on the movie for 130 working days and I couldn't digest its failure," he added.
Besides PPLM, Sharwanand has tasted setbacks in the form of Ranarangam, Jaanu, Sreekaram, Maha Samudram and Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu in recent years. Oke Oka Jeevitham was a hit in 2022. After Nari Nari Naduma Murari's success this year, he is back in the game. Biker on April 3 and Bhogi on August 28 will hit the cinemas this year.
