Hombale Films may be a Karnataka-based production house. Yet, its moves are closely watched by Tollywood observers. Even though it has made only one straight Telugu movie (Salaar) so far, it has had close ties with at least one major production house: Mythri Movie Makers. While Hombale is the biggest Sandalwood production house, Mythri is the biggest Telugu one. So, it's a match made in heaven.
Hombale is now debuting as an international distribution company. The same is being framed positively as a forward-thinking step amid growing international appetite for Indian content. "This is a move to build a structured and focused international distribution network targeting regions such as North America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific," a report notes.
As per the buzz in the town, Hombale Films will make a massive deal with the makers of Fauzi in key international markets. This will be a phenomenal deal between Hombale and Mythri Movie Makers. After a flop like The Raja Saab, Fauzi landing a headline-grabbing overseas deal would be good news for Prabhas. Fauzi, as things stand, is scheduled to hit the cinemas in the second half of this year.
