1. They take entirely long between season 1 and season 2. Get you interested in Season 1 and then lollygag around long enough that you’ve lost interest in season 2. But more importantly we have grown accustomed to being teased with a second season and then the show being outright canceled. That tends to happen with their best and most popular shows. And then the crap no one wants to watch will get 5 seasons. So we just don’t look back if we watched the first season.
2. There was so much time between Seasons 4 and 5 of Stranger Things that I was able to get married, move to a different country, get pregnant, have a child, and raise him for 6 months in the meantime.
3. I don't even sub to Netflix anymore because every show I thought was good would get cancelled after like one season. They literally trained people to not care about shows because they never committed to them unless they were wildly popular. That and subscription fatigue.
4. Humans just crave an ending, even if it’s kinda lame or unsatisfying. Rather than dragging it out with pretentious ‘To be continued’ nonsense, or watching actors who got so fat they look like completely different people still playing young, energetic characters, or getting force-fed woke casting and preachy scripts that lecture you the whole time… Give me a tight 6-8 episode limited series any day.
