After failures, Suma's son Roshan now heads to a 'new world'

Roshan Kanakala has failed to launch himself so far. His first two movies as a lead man, Bubblegum (2023) and Mowgli (2025), bombed at the box office. Bubblegum sank without a trace owing to its very indulgent romantic track. Ideally, it should have clicked with a good second half; it was directed by Kshanam fame Ravikanth Perupu and had a hot-looking heroine in Maanasa Choudhary. Mowgli, directed by Colour Photo fame Sandeep Raj, was a disaster in keeping with People Media Factory's consistent track record (Mirai was a bug).

And now, Roshan is relying on a 'new world'. His next is going to be a fantasy entertainer written by Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada fame Vi Anand. Now, it's not like Anand is in fine form. Okka Kshanam, Ravi Teja's Disco Raja and Sundeep Kishan's Ooru Peru Bhairavakona were poorly written.

Roshan Kanakala badly needs to burst forth on the big screen. Despite nothing being exciting about his new project, he must be hoping for its premise and storytelling to do the magic. "Beyond the skies... Beyond imagination... Lies a story waiting to touch every heart" must mean something.
