After Sing Geetham started streaming on OTT, netizens are criticizing a particular aspect: the accent/dialogue delivery of actors. A movie buff wrote that he was annoyed by the actors' "NRI Telugu".
Many are in agreement with this view. An X user wrote that Sing Geetham is CHIREC/Oakridge kids’ art project for their cultural elective. "Those super-artificial sets in controlled spaces, the Anglicised Telugu, cliched characters, pretentious rooted aesthetics…god the list goes on," he wrote on X.
Although it was Singeetham Srinivasa Rao who directed Sing Geetham, it's safe to assume that the actors were trained during their acting workshops by either Nag Ashwin or Sankalp Gora. This explains why the artists don't speak like they are native Telugu speakers. In Kalki 2898 AD, too, some of the actors spoke that way. The Anglicized style suited some, but seemed artificial otherwise.
