Jagapathi Babu knows his films make no business

Jagapathi Babu has started to headline movies. He leads Vadhala, to be released in theatres on July 17.

Speaking at the movie's pre-release event, the senior actor said that the movie was never expected to make pre-release business. "And it didn't make any. We are now entirely relying on the audience to recover the investment. What the buyers couldn't give us, you have to give us," Jaggu Bhai shared.

It's really strange to see an artist of his calibre say that the stakes are so high that, in case of a theatrical disaster (which Vadhala is almost certainly going to be), the washout will be 100%. Small films don't make anything from OTT rights either; streaming rights are sold on a pay-per-hour model. The recovery will just be in lakhs.

Jagapathi Babu was recently seen in Peddi. He shared that he is looking at finding his niche in his second innings as a lead man.
